THE SONG REMAINS

Feat. Claus Waidtløw (tenorsax), Thor Madsen (gui) and Jesper Bodilsen (bass)

2019 saw Led Zeppelin - the 70’s iconic rockband - celebrate the 50th anniversary of their debut album. That release - as well as all their subsequent albums - dazzled and litterally shook the world of music, and created a whole new direction in rock’n’roll. Their music is now being revisited by a band consisting of some of the most in demand players on the Danish and European jazz scene.

Drummer/composer Karsten Bagge, rediscovering his own personal musical roots, wrote the arrangements, and the band gives a modern, jazz inspirered take on the songs, which perhaps more than any other collection of songs, has been the soundtrack of a whole generation.

While in no way trying to surpas the raw energy of Led Zeppelin, as shown both live and in the studio, the band strives to give the music a whole new expression, where the listener can expect to encounter both familiarity and surprising new directions of the classic songs.

The sound is different, the interplay is different, the arrangements are different - but in each case, the song remains the same…
